Packing Guide

Tanzania Safari Packing List

Pack light, practical layers for dusty roads, cool mornings, warm days, and lodge comfort.

Neutral clothes and comfortable layers
Soft luggage works better than hard suitcases
Sun protection, insect repellent, and personal medicine
Camera, binoculars, chargers, and travel documents

Clothing basics

Pack neutral colors, light long sleeves, comfortable trousers, a fleece or warm jacket, hat, sunglasses, and closed shoes. Mornings can be cool even when days become warm.

Luggage and documents

Soft bags are easier to fit in safari vehicles and small aircraft. Keep passport, insurance, visa documents, vaccination records if required, and booking confirmations easy to access.

Camera and comfort items

Bring spare batteries, chargers, power bank, memory cards, binoculars, lip balm, sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal medication you need during travel.

Common Questions

Soft luggage is strongly preferred, especially when vehicle space or domestic flights are involved.

Avoid very bright colors for game drives and avoid camouflage clothing because it can create issues in some contexts.

They are very useful, especially for birds, distant cats, and crater viewpoints.
